I went to this great diner today. I stood in line to be seated and as I got to the front I found we paid for our lunch up front. I asked, “How this possible?” They told me they took the average price of every item on the menu and charged everyone the same price. Great! I could have steak for a low price. I will eat here more often.
The next day I went to lunch but the price was higher. I asked, “Why?” They said too many people were ordering the expensive meals. As I was eating my steak I heard the two men in the booth next to me who were dressed in real expensive suits. They were complaining about having to pay double what everyone else was paying. I wondered why that was. As I was leaving the diner I saw a poorly dressed man come in the diner. The host gave him money for his dinner. Now I was really confused. I went to the host and asked, “How does that work?” He said when the guy leaves he will have to give the money back to pay for his meal. So in another words he gets his meal for free. This place is getting strange.
The next time I went to the diner the price was even more. I almost left but I knew how good the steak was. After I paid and was seated I found out they were out of steak, they were out of chicken, and they were out of fish. I asked what they did have. They had breads, pastas, and salads. That is a lot of money for those things but they told me there are no refunds. I had a pasta salad.
There was no way I was going back to the diner. I had enough. The next day as I drove past the diner to another restaurant I saw that it was closed and a “FOR SALE” sign was in the window. What happened? I asked around and found the owner forgot about the fair VALUE of things in effort for being FAIR to all people regardless of there ability to pay. How could the owner be so dumb?
I did some more digging and found that all the former employees were looking for jobs. The costumers who didn't have to pay had quit there jobs thinking there was always going to be food for them and were now starving. The costumers who could pay were missing the good food but were finding other places to eat because they had jobs and the ability to buy lunch.
What became of the Owner? It turned out he pocketed all the money and skipped town. He said at the beginning he wanted to provide a fair meal for all and help the little guy. The truth was he was only in it for the money. Now he is rich and rests of us don’t have the great diner anymore. Good job Obama (owner).
Now does this help you understand the liberal (socialist) approach to government? Our diner (U.S.A.) is the best in the world. Keep the prices fair based on value and ability to pay. Teach those who can’t pay how to work and develop the ability to pay. These are conservative values and key to the success of our nation.

Democracy or Socialism

This election has been said to be a referendum on Obama. But because of the economic problems the truth is fully exposed. This election is a referendum on Democracy vs. Socialism. (I know we are a representative republic but for marketing to the American people I use the word Democracy.) It can’t be hammered home enough. What is so hard about words like “Free” and “Illegal”? We can be for Immigration just not ILLEGAL immigration.
I saw Obama over the weekend say something to the effect that McCain “…wanted to trust the FREE Market System to fix our current economic problem.” The implication is that government should be in control (i.e. Socialism). McCain needs to give us some hard “Straight Talk” on Friday night in the debate and call Obama out on his pure Socialistic views. Let the American people decided between Democracy and Socialism. We must get the truth out.
It reminds me of a certain central European country in early 1930’s when the people accepted government control and soon a dictator because of economic hard times. That took a world wide effort to fix in the 1940’s (i.e. WWII)
The Key Word is FREE. Like the genie in Disney’s “Aladdin” What is having “phenomenal cosmic powers” without having Freedom? Our nation has survived more than one economic depression (1780, 1819 & 1929) and many economic turn downs. But we cannot afford to turn this free Representative Republic into a Socialist type government. We have been heading down that path slowly for the past 80 years. Now Obama wants us to jump in all the way. We cannot afford to do so. We must not panic and let crises management take affect. It never works. In our past depressions great things came out of them:
1780’s helped lead to the US Constitution.
1819’s brought western expansion. (towards the Mississippi River)
1929’s gave us the “New Deal”. (Well maybe not all good things)
What will 2008 lead too? (If 2008 is really a depression)

Politicians Need a "Timeout"

As father of two teenage boys, I have found the value of the disciplinary tool called a “Timeout”. As my boys were growing up and would misbehave we would send them to there rooms to cool off and think about there mistake. This time also allowed us as parents to cool off and use the poor behavior as a teaching moment. Lessons were learned, behavior was modified, respect was earned, consequences were enforced and love was established.
Our leaders in Washington seem to be like little children who are left without any parental supervision. They have been left unchecked and have become undisciplined. The fighting and arguing is deafening. They are self serving, ego driven, power hungry, and very selfish. In this mode they have stopped looking out for the best interest of the nation and their constituents. All they care about is keeping their jobs and having as much control and power as they can get. Come reelection time they will say and do anything to get our votes.
Some may say that is the way it has always been and there is nothing we can do about it. It is true that there have always been unethical politicians but they were not the majority. That seems to have changed. I am having a hard time thinking of many political leaders who have stayed true to their convictions at all cost and shown true statesmanship and integrity. There are a few but not many. That type of leaders seams to be a relic of the past. To say there is nothing we can do is to put our selves down and overlook the power of the people. This is exactly what the leaders in Washington want us to think. It is what gives them their uncontrolled and unchecked power.
If our children were treating us and each other the way our leaders are treating us we would place them in a “Timeout”. You may think I am joking or too simpleminded a person. I may be simpleminded but I am not joking. Let us put our leaders in “Timeout”. We are there bosses. They are supposed to work for us not the other way around. So how do we put them in “Timeout”, you may ask? Vote them out of office. Send them back to their rooms (States and cities). Let them realize we want REAL CHANGE, not just talk. I don’t care what party they are from. Both parties need a deep and thorough house cleaning. We need to take back control of our country. Our leaders need to know we are informed and actively involved. We need to fight for our rights and not just assume we will always have them.
America is looking for true leadership. The political pundits and strategists have stopped looking at the whole nation but just a small voting block to direct their candidates’ opinion. (Sept. 23, 2008) I have come back to this article after being away from voicing my opinion. Since then we have Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket. She is a great choice. Close but not perfect but a move in the right direction. I am not complaining. But what we need are a lot of Sarah Palin’s. Average people who will not be beaten down by the media and so called popular opinion and will rise to the need of this nation and get involved. We need to make noise. If we don’t we may loose. Washington has run amuck and “We the People” must fix it before it fixes us like we were it’s pet.

A New Conservative Political Party

The 2008 Presidential Election:
Never in my life have I seen a presidential election with two of the most unqualified candidates that our current political parities could muster. How this happened could take volumes to explain but for now it is what it is. The two questions I have are: How we as a people could allow this to happen? And what do we do about it now?
The first question is one I am not sure how to answer. I am afraid some of it is due the people’s lack of understanding of the system, and the complacency of the people to feelings of helplessness. We have put to much faith in our current political system and the two parties that dominate that system. We have allowed them to pick our candidates and complain when they are not who we want. WE must never forget that WE are the power that runs this country and WE can and must have a say on who will lead us.
For the first time in my life it truly will be a case picking the lesser of two evils in November. If you have not surmised by now I am a conservative. I have been a registered republican my whole life and have only voted for a democrat once. As many conservatives I feel the Republican Party has left me. For years it was easy for me to see the differences between Democrat and Republican; Liberal and Conservative; Larger Government and Small Government. As I look at it now the Democrats are no longer liberals but socialist and the republicans are no longer conservative but liberals. That leaves us conservatives without a party.
This brings me to the second question: What do we do about it now? Some say we need a third party. Others say that will only give Obama the win. I am afraid they are both right. For some time I have pondered on this dilemma. I have listened to the conservative voices on the radio and in print. For better or worse McCain must win the presidency. Obama is a pure socialist and would do nothing to help this nation. McCain may have some socialist tendencies but he is a mix between a conservative and liberal. As strange as that is it trumps a socialist every time. For now conservatives must bite the bullet and vote for McCain.
The Third Party:
Those who say a third party would not work must not remember their history. It was a third party that rose to power in 1856 and gave us our first Republican President in 1860, Abraham Lincoln. What made it work then? What will make it work now? There were a lot of “moderates” and “appeasers” in both the Democrat and Whig parties. They were trying to keep a nation together without fixing the problem. It sounds a lot like a bunch of guys in Washington today. There were enough determined strong willed and good people who were willing to make the tough decisions and do what was best for the nation at all cost, even a Civil War. Those people formed the Republican Party. They gave slaves their freedom, and the right to vote. They gave women the right to vote. They did more good for this country from 1860 to 1930 than any other party. They gave the people the power to grow and build wealth. Not by government control but by allowing individual freedoms.
Conservatism is alive and well in this nation, contrary to popular believe. It needs a political party and the current Republican Party does not seem to want us. If I am right, and there are a large number of conservative minded people in this nation then now is the time to act. Rush Limbaugh has become the main voice of Conservatism in this country. He is doing a great job. I am not saying he should run for political office, but he has shown his words can move mountains. He is right that a third party candidate would only give Obama the White House. But the Republicans must be put on notice. Just as his “Operation Chaos” had an impact on the Democrat Primaries, His support of a new “Conservative Party” can have a greater impact on the Republican Party and this nation.
This time around the Conservative Party will support McCain. Not because we like him but because we don’t want Obama. We can spend the next four years converting congressmen and senators to change parties. Start showing we have an active voice in the system. When we feel we can compete with Democrats we can run our own candidate. Until then we use our power with a greater grass root effort to affect the Republican Party platform. The Republican Party must either come back to its roots or become as the Whig party did 1856.
It is time for “WE THE PEOPLE” to say enough. It is time to restore order to our form of government and return to the values that made this nation the greatest on earth. The sooner we act the less painful it will be. If we remain complacent then the day of change may have to come as it did in 1776, with bloodshed. I pray for this nation, its constitution and its people. May we not ever forget the sacrifice of our founding fathers and may we have the courage to do as they did and fight injustice. May “WE THE PEOPLE” adapt a slogan from 1776 – “Don’t Tread on Me”. Let us take our nation back. Let freedoms, not socialism, rein.

The Need for a New American Revolution

Over the past several years I have watched the country I love lose more and more of its greatness and beauty. For me it began on election night 2000. I should have seen it coming eight years before when Ross Perot gave Bill Clinton the presidency by splitting the conservative vote. Although George Bush the first did his own part by not being a true conservative. Bill Clinton disgraced the Presidency like no other president before him, not even Nixon. I am not dumb enough to think that Clinton was first unethical president, but he, his party, and the main stream media made it an acceptable norm. His presidency did more to destroy the moral fiber in this nation than any other presidency before or since. Clinton opened the door to the current downfall but election night 2000 opened the flood gates.
Going back to election night 2000, I could feel bitterness and divisiveness and knew there would be a long a bitter fight. I knew the democrats would not let go or forget no matter what the outcome. I saw our Constitution being put to one of its greatest test in over a hundred years. The Constitution passed the test with flying colors but the current political and main stream media systems got a big fat ‘F’.
Then came 9-11, and it looked for a moment that the nation would heal and rally around the flag. But again, the current political and media systems got a big fat ‘F’. The divisiveness and self importance of both political parties and the main stream media kept the country from uniting and facing the true evils facing our nation. Now instead of just fighting terrorism we must also fight socialism.
I am not a historian or historical expert but I do enjoy history and believe we can learn a lot from those that have gone before. In that vein, I was reading the “Declaration of Independence” recently and found something that seamed to parallel our times. We are all familiar with first sentence of the second paragraph:

But I wonder how many people are aware of the rest of that sentence and the rest of the paragraph? :
I have no doubt that the “Declaration of Independence” and “The Constitution of the United States of America” are inspired documents and should be revered and held in the highest of respect. I also see the time is coming or will shortly come when the good people of this nation will no longer be willing to suffer the evils imposed on them by their government. “We the People…” have given the power to govern to the leaders in Washington and “We the People…” can demand a change to leadership in Washington. I do not, for a moment, suggest a new form of government, but a return to the foundation as set forth by the founding fathers. “We the People…” have, through our complacency, let Washington control more and more of our lives. We have become a welfare state. What once was a free market economy is rapidly becoming a government controlled economy (socialism). If left unchecked we will give up our freedoms for a communistic type of government.
This nation is great not because of the leaders in Washington but because of its people. We are what make this nation work. We are the power that moves its forward. We determine our destiny, “WE THE PEOPLE…” not “THEM THE GOVERNMENT”.
There is one other power that makes this country great. For the last forty to fifty years there has been long a deliberate attack on this power. There has been a movement within our government to remove this power from the conscience of the American people and to undermine its real and true power. That power is GOD. This is “One Nation under God”. Our government will never put a name on God or tell us how to worship him or her, but our nation is founded on the love and believe of God. It was by his hand that a miracle took place in Philadelphia in September 1787 that we call the Constitution of the United States of America. May we never forget to give thanks to God for the blessings we have as citizens of the United States of America.

unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit
of Happiness.
Many may even be aware of the first part of the second sentence:

But I wonder how many people are aware of the rest of that sentence and the rest of the paragraph? :
“…That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and
Happiness.
